The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Under the general direction of the Architectural Supervisor or designate, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks in maintaining, repairing, altering and constructing woodwork, furniture and fixtures throughout the Centre in offices and wards, and building interior and exterior structures and roofs as required. Uses and maintains a wide variety of power and hand tools such as saws, planers, drills, hammers and screwdrivers. Experience Minimum five years’ experience in all facets of structural and architectural building maintenance, ward/office furniture repair, and other specialized millwork construction/repair used in a health care facility. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Must be qualified as a Journeyman Carpenter (Province of Manitoba). Door Hardware Institute Certificate, Fire Stopping Certificate and Roofing Industry Education Institute Certificate preferred. Must complete Man Lift Equipment training provided by the Centre. Certification/Licensure/Registration Certificate as Journeyman Carpenter. Qualifications and Skills Must have excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
