Practice Area: Data Privacy - Transactional, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm is seeking a DSSP Incident Response Associate Attorney for their Chicago, IL, location.Job Overview:The DSSP Incident Response Associate Attorney will primarily focus on proactive and reactive data protection matters, advising clients on compliance with cybersecurity laws, defending regulatory security investigations, and drafting data and technology contracts. The ideal candidate will possess 2-4 years of legal experience in cybersecurity counseling and incident response.Duties:Advise clients on compliance with cybersecurity lawsDefend regulatory investigations related to securityPrepare public-facing consumer disclosures and internal company policies and proceduresDraft, revise, and negotiate data and technology contracts with service providers and commercial customersAdvise MA deal teams and other firm colleagues on cybersecurity mattersAssist the team with privacy issues as neededRequirements:2-4 years of legal experienceFoundational knowledge of federal, state, and foreign cybersecurity lawsMotivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigationsExperience liaising with claims counsel, outside forensic experts, and other vendorsAttention to detail and strong organizational and project management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsCommitment to continue developing proficiency in cybersecurity and data privacy lawsEducation Certifications:Admission to the IL BarSkills:Legal expertise in cybersecurity counseling and incident responseUnderstanding of state, federal, and international data security incident notification obligationsAbility to draft materials in business-friendly language Prestige, opportunity, diversity, and tremendous culture draw associates to this global conglomerate firm.
