Description: Manage a team of engineers and technicians in support of development initiatives for RMS Mission Systems Production Operations (MSPO) including additive manufacturing, composites, robotics, data analytics, and intelligent factory. Lead the Owego site Advanced Materials Lab providing MSPO with chemical, mechanical, metallurgical, corrosion, thermal, cross-sectional and failure analysis testing. Lead the MSPO Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center specializing in developing, prototyping and producing novel metal heat exchangers and RF antennas. Additional leadership responsibilities include: providing timely lab analysis of manufacturing processes and failure analysis reports; partnering with design engineering to develop innovative and high quality additively manufactured parts; managing technical experts and nexperts in a variety of advanced manufacturing disciplines; overseeing department overhead, capital, and IRAD budgets; ensuring appropriate staffing; performing infrastructure planning including facilities and capital equipment needs; promoting safety, quality, mission success and continuous improvement; managing projects to meet technical, cost and schedule requirements; identifying potential problems and taking proactive action to minimize impact; and providing the team with leadership, vision, direction, focus, recognition and development opportunities. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 13 years or more of professional experience; or 11 years or more with a related Masters degree. Desired Skills: * Knowledge of chemical and materials lab testing procedures* Experience in failure analysis and root cause investigations* Experience in new process development, design of experiments, process control techniques, qualification plans and/or acceptance testing* Experience in additive manufacturing processes for polymers or metals* Experience in printed wiring board or circuit card assembly manufacturing and electronic materials development* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team, including geographically dispersed members* Experience in cost and schedule management, for example Work package or Control Account Management (CAM)* Experience in capital project planning and implementation* Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Mission Systems products and technologies Clearance Level: None Other Important Information You Should Know Expression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.This position is incentive plan eligible. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000.
